Get Google To List Your Site

By Daniel Waser On December 4, 2009 Under Internet Marketing

Kind Attention: If your site is Google-listed right now, then you can not speed up listing by trying to list again. If you are looking or the page where you would have to submit your site for listing, find the page easily by searching ‘Google submit’. You can easily expect their page to appear on top of the list; however there are other quicker ways also by which you bring their attention to your site.

A successful way to index your site by Google is through important links with other heavy-traffic sites. Using online directories and there are plenty of them could of course be the best and the most effective way. Google has the habit of scrutinizing top level directories regularly and when any site has links from these the site also gets noticed quicker.

You have a choice between free directories and paid subscriptions and it is entirely up to your budget and preference. Business directories which are in line with your business type are best since Google always looks for pertinence before indexing you. Your business and the business directory ought to operate in the same market.

DMOZ, also referred to as an Open Directory is one of the most critical directories where to get listed to be assured of high rankings from Google. This is however not the fastest ways to get your site noticed by Google. DMOZ would take their time, weeks or months before you get listed. This is because a category editor personally evaluates every site that is submitted and it all matters where in the line your site is located. One piece of advice, if you do plan to submit to DMOZ make sure you read the submission guidelines carefully and comply fully with what they ask.

One sure way to get Google pick up your site is through article submissions to sites meant for this job. Mostly all important and successful article sites would allow the author to add a small resource box called ‘About the Author’ or ‘Author Resource’. This is the place where you insert the link to your site.

If the articles are good, then your articles could also be chosen by other sites for inclusion and this is another advantage of writing articles. It is compulsory however that the ‘About the Author’ section is always tagged under your article as this result in your getting a free link. That’s another chance for Google to find you so if your articles are relevant to your business then you will probably find they will push visitor traffic to your site as well. Finally, direct Google submission is a possibility, but to get indexed fast, you can not bypass directory submission and article writing.
